I hope you’re having a great weekend! Tomorrow’s a festivo, or public holiday and I’m hoping the sunny blue skies and light breeze of the past few days hangs around. Perfect beach weather as my plans for the festivo involve more playa!
But first, Weekend Friday Favourites, things that have been making me smile this week or have caught my eye.
The 6 Pack Tree
Near where I park my bike at the zoo, I’ve recently noticed the 6 pack tree. Or a terrier dog with a 6 pack tree.
Rope Rows/Pull
Occasionally the gym monitors will leave the ropes up from the cross training classes. They normally have a pulley system with a kettle bell and/or a body weight variation where you pull yourself up using your arms. To save face (although I have a pulley weight pull in the Spartan Race so I should be pulling the kettle bell) I go for the bodyweight variation. Which looks easy. The pulling yourself up is, however lowering down until a squat or all the way down to the floor to sit will surprise attack the shoulders, triceps, back and core. It’s great training for the rope wall climb obstacle which has running water down a slope as you pull yourself up on a rope.
Choose The Name
The zoo’s having name competitions for 3 of it’s new arrivals! 2 I knew about, 1 the giraffe I didn’t (but I don’t visit them often and they’re usually tucked in their night quarters when I visit). I chose Kwasi for the Mangabey Monkey and later I received an email with all 3. For the lion cub I chose Mwamba, Nakuru for the baby giraffe and again voted Kwasi.
Aj and D
The bed was the beginning of the week cool down number one spot before the usual cool spots behind the sofa won the remainder of the week.
Rain out at sea
It’s nowhere near jacket weather at the moment, however the shops are filled with AW collections. This jacket from Stradivarius caught my eye a few weeks ago, but was sold out of my size to try on. I forgot all about it until I popped in again this week. It’s the perfect light khaki colour for me without being too cliche khaki and strawberry blonde/ginger hair combo.
Correos, Via Laietana
I always love going to the post office at the end of Via Laietana if I can. The whole buildings’s grand. Even the inside.

And of course I went to the zoo. I understand zoo photos are more or less on repeat most posts. I’m going to try to keep zoo photos to a minimum in the future as I get the feeling same old can get tiring. Nobody can see me! Nobody will know I’m skiving!
I think these guys were eating the green curly shoots and are either so used to humans or whatever humans, you could get quite close without them flying off. What’s been making you smile this week or caught your eye? Have a great week!
