I hope you’re having a great weekend! This week’s flown by in a blur of food shopping. Every day this week there’s been something to get from different shops all over. I’m not complaining too much, I’m lucky to have food. It’s just that sometimes I like a non grocery shop!
Parakeet, Barcelona Zoo
Anyways, this weeks Weekend Friday Favourites, things that have made me smile this week or have caught my eye.
Despite applying sunscreen, I got burnt running Wednesday in some small random patches on my shoulder and back. Honey especially Manuka honey is great for burns thanks to its anti bacterial and skin renewal properties. If I burn I apply it overnight, rinse it off in the morning and it calms the redness down without it peeling. I don’t recommend going sans sunscreen, but if you do get burnt, Manuka honey’s your best friend. On a side note the price from iherb.com has almost doubled since I got purchased this earlier this year. Is there a shortage, import restrictions or now it’s well known there’s money to be made? I don’t think I’ll be buying this brand again at €40/$44 when I got it for around €24 last time, even though I just use it for face masks and burns!
H&M Trainer, Ballet Pump Socks
These I’ve been wearing for the past 2 years for non gym trainers and they’ve never let me down. I don’t see them much in H&M but when I do, I stock up. They’re invisible, stay put, hardly ladder and last a long time. Perfect for summer months! And yes, I saw them in H&M this week and stocked up!
AJ and D
Just because and they’re been superstars with the heat.
Cosrx Low pH Good Morning Gel Cleanser
I ran out of this a few weeks go and Miin hasn’t been able to restock it for weeks (I think thanks to customs). My skin wasn’t happy with the foam cleanser I was using in the mean time until they restocked, so I had to take matters into my own hands. Amazon stocks it but won’t ship to Spain, then on Instagram Asian BeautyPlus in the UK started following me (maybe not now!) and they stock it! I was hesitant initially as I thought Miin, will get it in soon, then Asian BeautyPlus sold out! Long story short, Asian BeautyPlus restocked and I received it this week and my skin’s back to happy. If you have oily, combination skin I can’t recommend it enough. With shipping and conversion it’s the same price as in Miin.

Side Lunge Squat Shape Magazine May 2015
These are great at targeting the legs, core and lower back. Since they were featured last year in Shape Magazine, they’ve been a regular in my workouts. They add a bit of spice to side lunges and I always enjoy doing them. I’ve modified it slightly by windmilling the arms throughout the whole exercise with opposite arm to foot rather than same arm down as foot raised as shown. This way it opens up the back and shoulders more. Either variation is a great way of targeting balance and legs.

Chriselle Lim: How to clean make up brushes. I clean more or less the same, but use a BrushEgg and dry them upside down in a Real Techniques case some of my brushes came in. I love her ingenious trick of tying a hair band around several like teepee for them to stay upright.

What’s been making you smile this week? Have a great weekend!
[…] I hope you had a great weekend! Friday after a morning run. Whom I’m kidding it was a midday run before running around like crazy to meet a friend for coffee. Coffee for her and peppermint tea for me. Take out coffee and browse around Sephora as we both share a love of skincare. I had hoped to make the beach and zoo afterwards but I kinda over estimated time and would have only been able to fit one in afterwards. Black out clouds came cycling on the way to the beaches and I knew I’d have got numb fingers if I swam thanks to the wind. I decided to spend longer at the zoo and take a dip to cool off in the apartment building pool. The pool was busy, so no beach, no dip. Sob. But I did spend longer at the zoo. Photos here! […]
The BLUE SKY is making me smile these days! But it seems there is a reason for it… a G20 meeting will be celebrated in a few weeks in a city not far from here.
🙂 🙂 Maybe someone’s magically altering the sky for the G20. Blue skies make me smile too, more sunshine 🙂
