Suffolk, UK Travels

Happy December!

Forgive my absence for a while. If you stop doing things daily even for few days those skipped days can turn into weeks, months, years. Things that shouldn’t have but did fell by the wayside recently.

The past few months have felt like a million things around the house have needed fixing or replacing. There’s been vets and physio/chiropractor visits, Continue reading “Suffolk, UK Travels”

Iced Lemonade

When life give you lemons you make lemonade right?

The pyshio last week gave me 2 options for my psoas. At first it was to stop running for 2 weeks, but as the inflammation is ‘controlled’ I was permitted to run on either grass or sand. However I’m not allowed to run on any hard surfaces and am to walk to the grass/sand. I’m was sure I could work around that somehow making up little biathlons biking and running.

That option for 1 week or more (please no more than 2 weeks, I have a race coming up!) has been taken out of my hands. Probably by the powers that be. The ones that look out me either decided we’ll make her not run as she won’t listen to the physio or were either watching Netflix, distracted, looking out for other beings in their care or just wanted a giggle. Long story short, I fell off my bike in a puddle.

Autumn Fall Rescheduling

Happy Autumn Fall and Happy October!

There’s something about the Equinoxes more than the Solstices that leave me wanting a change or a wake up in scheduling, new energy, or being more reflective. Maybe it’s the equal length of day and night wanting balance. Maybe it’s the change in light, change in temperature. Solstices feel more about new beginnings; beginning of longer days in the winter, heat in the summer. Equinox’s are like the detox to the cold and heat or light and dark.

If August flew by without being able to catch my breath, September didn’t want to be left out. Before I knew I was back to rushing about getting places on time. Climbing classes have started again, the zoo closes earlier, appointments, the sun sets around 19.40 (why can’t the longer days stay? Because Earth has a gravitational orbit it needs to stick to so you get that sunlight Nat and that means a few months of less sun.). I say this every Continue reading “Autumn Fall Rescheduling”

Like Mother, Like Daughter and Weekend Catch Up

P was here this weekend and I found myself doing something I’ve been trying to hold off. I’m turning into my Mother.

My mother’s a great lady. To say she’s colourful’s an understatement. Always dressed in colour preferably from her autumn winter colours and is hardly every quiet. I’ve noticed there are something subconsciously I think are just family traits I do. I can be a ball of energy like my Mum that some people find uncomfortable. Or I can be the complete opposite and grumpy like my Dad. I’m making efforts not be grumpy. Reflecting on actions and changing them later in similar situations.

I’m mostly mute at home, only speaking to the cats. When P’s here, I’m almost non stop talking to the point I have to tell myself to shut up. That’s only part Continue reading “Like Mother, Like Daughter and Weekend Catch Up”

Ethical Wardrobe on a Budget Dilemma

As some of you may know I’m on a recycle less, use less plastic journey. I’m also more aware of where I clothes shop from. Many of you also know I’m vegan for the past 5 years having been vegetarian for 14-13 years previously. I think that once you start on one of these journeys they all merge at some point down the same road or different lanes in the same motorway.

My usual hot weather summer style. Hiking hence rucksack and cap (okay that’s usual as I cycle everywhere). I’m no fashion blogger but a post about fashion requires a clothes photo right?

Shopping for ethical clothes is hard on a budget. I shop on the high street while keeping in mind the fibres the clothes are made from, the environmental impact, where they were made as to the wage and conditions they were made in. I’ve had to meet half way focusing on fibres in some shops.
