Weekend Friday Favourites

Nothing all week then, 2 posts in 1 day. Let’s just say someone made time to do something else she loves other than working out and sorting out that pile of books that’s been building up.

I hope you’re having a great weekend! Once again I’m left on a Sunday wondering where the week went. It went by with its usual workouts, runs, cleaning up after the cats (do all male species miss aim peeing?), catching up with friends and working on a better routine. I’ve identified where non productive time goes vs chores, vs productivity vs hours in the day, but hey it’s the same for everyone and no ones perfect. If housekeeper robots ever come out, as long as they’re not programmed like in I, Robot you never know I may say sod it, you come and clean Mr Miss gender neutral robot. But then again I’ll probably be why do I want a robot doing what I can and is it conspiring with The Terminator?

Anyways, Weekend Friday Favourites, things that have made me smile or caught my eye this week. It’s a little short and sweet and mostly trees.

Sea Mist/Fog Reverse Sunset

Aj and D

What’s a WFF without Aj and D? Aj’s for sure getting more tolerable of D as he gets older. They were snuggled for a good hour. Usually AJ lets D win when he comes to take his spot.

Moon and Trees

The moon’s been catching my eye peeking though branches the past few weeks.

Parakeets

My favourite city residents at the zoo. It’s their cute walk that gets me!

Trees

I’ve been into photographing trees the past few weeks. It’s something to do with naked branches making abstract shapes and palm leaves reflecting the sun.

Flamingo Barcelona Zoo

Sunset’s around 18.00 and it’s dark around 18.30 which makes me happy as the days are getting longer! I’m sure the flamingos at the zoo like me are counting down to Spring.

Frank BodyIMG_8842

Frank Body has arrived in Spain thanks to Sephora! I think I heard of Frank Body body scrubs a few years ago but was nah, I can’t drink coffee as it gives me cystic acne and if I want a coffee scrub I’ll make my own. Then I see Frank Body in Sephora and well. It’s an Australian cruelty free mostly vegan brand so obviously I had to try it out. In store in El Triangle they only have a few items with more online and what they did have in store was nearly all sold out. So far I’ve tried the 5 min Glow Mask and was so impressed I’ve ordered from Frank Body online Euroepan store their Sweet Cheeks Set. For just a little more than the Creamy Face Moisturiser  you also get in addition the Creamy Face Cleanser and the Creamy Face Scrub. I’ll admit I was a little skeptical initially as I couldn’t feel the mask doing much, however after my usual skincare morning routine, I definitly had a little more glow!

Sprint Drills

Okay, I’m no sprinter. I’m a lazy runner, I don’t pick up my knees, but I love sprint drills! This week, one of my circuit featured just one of the many sprint drill variations out there. Over a 10 metre distance spirit as fast as you can until the marker, touch the floor and race back, backwards. Yes, backwards!! At the marker touch down again and sprit forward. To advance sprint forward 1 metre, run back backwards 1 metre, sprint forward 2 metres, sprint back 2 metres increasing the distance every forward sprint. The fun’s on the sprint backwards! I set myself 3 sets of 45 secs as my cardio burst laughing to myself, Usain Bolt would have sprinted 100 metres in the time it took me to sprint 15.

I follow them on Instagram via his sister who runs Mino Valley Farm Sanctuary in Galicia, Spain (both British, he runs his in Denmark). Both do amazing work rescuing and caring for animals caught up in factory farming, saving many from slaughter and promote veganism. Instagram links here and here!
