Weekly Photo Challenge: Ephemeral

Ephemeral. That’s a word you don’t come across everyday. Adj 1: Ephemeral: lasting a very short time; short lived; transitory: the ephemeral joys of childhood. 2: Lasting but one day: an ephemeral flower. Noun: Anything short lived as certain insects. according to Dictionary Reference.com. Isn’t that photography in general, ephemeral captures? I had to look this one up!

Barceloneta 2015. The light streaming caught my eye in the bike lane. Knowing I’d probably never be at the right time and place again, braked, back tracked and hoped the couple behind didn’t step in front.

Reverse sunset, Barceloneta, 2015. Just before sunset the whole sky, sea, person and buildings turned pink. Reverse sunset Barceloneta

Sunrise, Barcelona, 2015. While the sun rises every day (doh!) and every sunrise is different, 9/10 it rises a ball of hot pink that lasts for less than 5 minutes, before giving away to yellow.

Drill, Barcelona Zoo, 2015, One of my all time favourite photos. This teenager was up to tricks like many a mischievous teenager, sat twanging to rope like it was an elastic band until boredom took him/her else where 2 minutes later. Drill, Barcelona Zoo

Peacock, Barcelona Zoo, 2015. Peacock trains come but once a year. Sweeping trains like capes, less so.
