Red. That’s vibrant right?!
Every 5th of January in Spain the 3 Kings arrive bringing presents. Father Christmas or Santa makes a few rounds, but it’s the Kings that brings Christmas presents. They parade through the streets with their entourage. If you’ve been good, you get presents and just like if you’ve been naughty Father Christmas stuffs your stocking with coal, the Kings do too. They even have a train just for coal. This lady’s leading that train as the Kings paraded through Barcelona this year. Vibrant Vibrant
My pick for this weeks challenge also double up as last weeks challenge optimistic.
Sunsets are all about vibrancy, especially in the winter. The pink and reds are always more intense than in the summer. Maybe this is due to how the earth is tilted and how low the sun is during in winter that makes the light/colours more intense. But I’m not a scientist, I just know the colours are easy on the eye!
Dawn and sunrises on the other hand, they don’t always get the big ooo’s as sunsets do. Maybe this is because few people are up to see them. They can be just as vibrant if not more than sunsets. There’s something about seeing the sun rise that gives you a sense of optimism. Same sun, same air, same planet, but no 2 days are the same. Seeing that ball of pink pop up over the horizon adds a little bounce to your step. Even if only for a few minutes. You just got to see a new day saying hello!

There have been many times I’ve been tempted to temporally borrow one of the zoo keeper bikes at Barcelona Zoo, just so I can get to see all the enclosures before it closes!
You often see the keepers zipping around on them, leaving the golf buggies to the security guards and visitors. I love how each animal classification has it’s own dedicated bike often with a makeshift plastic box back pannier. But I don’t get the locks. How can someone walk out the zoo through turnstile gates with a bike?!

While I haven’t been blogging as much as I’ve wanted the past few weeks, I’m still taking just as many photos! Some were for posts that never happened, others just because, others I forgot to share, some day to day seemed boring to talk about at the time and others taken on my travels.
Just don’t expect any selfies. Even though it’s acceptable now to take them, firstly, I feel conscious taking them, secondly I can’t take them for ****. It’s worse than looking in the mirror! Anyways, enjoy!
New towels of me, new box for the boys!
Winter Sunrises. I think the intense colours of winter sunrises and sunsets is compensate the shorter days!
The residents of this little alley way I pass on longer runs and bike rides in Masnou, set up their own Christmas lights, leaving a notice asking if people if they would kindly respect them. As in do not steal!Wind, clouds and light. Whenever it’s windy and clear skies in the morning, the wind hangs around for 3 days, yet the clouds come in the afternoon. The light’s different from summer months. It has a colder, sharper, clearer feel to it.
Tiger wall decoration, Suyra, an Indian restaurant on Pau ClarisCat stencil, El Borne,Ducks, Parc Ciutadella. This was to be my entry for Weekly Photos Challenge, Weightless. I never got around to entering it! It’s wonky, but I feel it shows off ducks cheeky personalities! But I think these are geese not ducks. Lightening storm out to sea. The quality’s bad, but I wanted to see if I could capture something. I have so much respect now for lightening photographers!
I can’t believe I missed this guy for my previous Eye Spy Weekly Photo Challenge entry. Anyways, you’ve guessed it, he lives at Barcelona Zoo!
