January Catch Up

One thing that’s never going to get easier is not having Mr AJ or Mr D, the boys, the cats around. January was the first full month without coming back to a happy face at the door. The first month without looking after a furry being. I’m still not used to being told it’s breakfast or dinner time. No one to keep me or my routine in check. No gentle or knock you over head butts. No purrs, just an empty silence. If I’m honest I feel lost without those 2. I have too much spare time on my hands.

A friend asked if I’m enjoying the freedom. I wasn’t sure how to take that. I know she meant well, but they were never a burden. If you’ve never spent part of your life with a cat or dog, you’re missing out on so much. So without pi**ing her off with a blunt f you answer I answered with, a lonelier freedom.

New Years Day Sunset

Most of January was quiet. Spain celebrates King’s Day on the 6th January so things don’t start to get back ‘normal’ until around the 2nd week of January. P asked if I wanted to get away. At first I was hesitant. There might be lots of changes this year (thanks Brexit) and I was concerned about money. Initially I thought of Portugal then cheekily suggested the Big Sur I’ve always wanted to see. Suddenly we found ourselves 2 weeks later on a plane to Continue reading “January Catch Up”

Calella de Parafrugell and Llafranc

For my Birthday earlier this month I had no idea what to do. If I was on my own I’d have gone to the zoo usual for a Sunday. Surprise huh?! P’s here so he hired a car for the weekend. I knew I wanted to be outside somewhere along the coast, but where?!

The weather for the weekend kept changing from rain to sunny skies. From 22C to 19C. Searching for a place to go Calella de Parafrugell came up. It looked kinda cute plus it’s part of the Cami de Ronda, a former smugglers path along most of Costa Brava’s rugged coastline which we’re gradually walking parts of. Famous for its 9 coves and painted fishing huts Continue reading “Calella de Parafrugell and Llafranc”

Weekend Friday Favourites

I hope you’re having a great weekend! Here’s been quiet which is fine with me. I get to hang out with this little guy. Who sleeps most of the time and is currently sleeping on my lap helping me edit.

I can’t believe that Tone It Up’s Summer Series starts in a week. Or that they’re celebrating 10 years. Makes you think what you’ve done while they’ve been conquering the fitness world. Anyway, this weeks Weekend Friday Favourites. Things that have made me smile or caught my eye recently. As usual, animals included. Continue reading “Weekend Friday Favourites”

Cute Plastic Free/r Easter Gift Ideas

As my Mum say’s, Easter’s late this year! However I’m early sharing some easy plastic free/r Easter gift ideas.

Easter’s roots are with the pagan spring festivals of new life and birth as the world awaked from winter, hence the Easter bunny, chicks, eggs and flowers. As a kid I could never workout the deal with eggs sitting through Easter service. There was no mention of eggs, chocolate or chicks as the wooden pew got more uncomfortable. The gifts….!

Flowers

This year I got my Continue reading “Cute Plastic Free/r Easter Gift Ideas”

Happy April!

I feel like everything at the moment is buy and must haves. Everywhere I look is buy and must haves. I’m thankful in an odd way for my climbing classes. They cost extra a month, but compared to what I no longer buy or tempted to buy as I’m in class saves a lot.

I used to grocery shop after the gym at my local mall which meant popping into the shops. Now I only have enough time after class and post class practice for a quick supermarket sweep. 10 minutes is sometimes all I get to look around the mall before racing to the supermarket before closing. It’s good tactic more so when sometimes I only get there with 10 minutes until closing. City Center Continue reading “March April Photos”
