I don’t know about where you are at the moment, but that thing about crisp autumnal fall afternoons is a myth. Daily temps are a cool 23C. Too cool for shorts and too warm for leggings. The light’s shifting so bright summer colours stand out against a softer light. More people are dressing in darker colours which I try to avoid as I prefer wearing lighter colours leaving me feeling double not knowing how to layer right now. Even the weather doesn’t know how to layer. 23C the average with some days topping 26C with the evenings 20-22C.
Anyways I’ll leave you with some catch up photos! Mostly of the zoo. Youtube’s been less this week, yet that time’s been taken up translating Continue reading “October’s 1st Week Catch Up”
In a few weeks, I’m back to my autumn fall winter wardrobe uniform of black leggings until late spring, when denim shorts make a much anticipated comeback. So I thought it would be fun, to share my reasons why I’m excited for the new season ahead and looking forward to when summer says didcha miss me next year!
I’ll miss my tan. I didn’t tan as much this year as previous years, but I’ll miss having some colour. I don’t like being pale!
I won’t miss Continue reading “12 Reasons Why I’m Excited For Autumn Fall And Sad To See Summer Leave For 6 Months”
If I had gone sideways rather than forwards along the 2nd monkey bars during in the Maori Race I think I could have done them without any help. I practice going forwards and sideways on the beach monkey bars and have a wider stronger grip and overall strength if I go sideways. Plus the Maori Race monkey bars were further apart than what I’m used to, so to sideways would have meant a wider swing/base to attack them as I skip a bar sideways on the beach. For some reason it only occurred to me in the race to approach them forwards.
If you get up early enough, you’re rewarded with amazing sunrises.
Tarte Cosmetics now ship directly to Spain! Woo hoo! Continue reading “Things I Learnt In June”
While Spain’s great for somethings, sunshine, olive oil, tapas, big sale discounts is one thing I discovered it’s not. I’ve mentioned before sale discounts aren’t much here. Normally 20-30% which isn’t to be sniffed at, but the big discounts of 40-60% are normally reserved for the non Spanish retailers or it’s only department store El Corte Ingles. As most European high street shops are owned by Spanish Inditex, big discounts only occur towards the end of August on stock nobody really wants. I’m beginning to think this year the sales have been and gone without me noticing.
Even non Spanish stores I’ve noticed this summer have fewer discounts, fewer sale signs in windows. Maybe the big discounts are all on online. I haven’t really looked online as the shops are just down the road, Continue reading “No Hay Rebajas Aqui And Catch Up”
With summer just around the corner in 2 weeks, I noticed the other week how much I’ve acclimatised to the Mediterranean climate.
One day running last week it wasn’t a particularly hot day for here, about 24C. I was running later than I wanted around 2pm. A big no no running the heat but I was fine. I walked only because my legs were tired from running the beach, not from the heat. Passing a group of Brits in their early 20’s Continue reading “Heat Acclimatisation And Becoming A Local”
