Why I like Instyle Magazine

April’s and May’s 2017 covers of US Instyle magazine made me happy. April’s featured Victoria Beckham and with May, Amy Schumer. 2 ladies with 2 totally different body shapes and age. Victoria Beckham gives us thinner lipped girls hope in a social media world of plump lips and lip injections. Amy Schumer proves you don’t have to be a haute corture runway supermodel to be on a cover of an international fashion magazine. Confidence and beauty at 20, 40 and 30

For as long as I can remember I’ve been an US Instyle magazine reader. I don’t think I’ve missed an issue since 2003. I was so happy when I found my then local kiosk sold it in Spain when I moved here. (more…)

I See You Spring

Happy March!

I’m getting excited. Spring’s saying hello! I can feel it’s buzz in the mornings, it’s warmth, the light’s changing from it’s soft winter glow. Late Winter, early Spring’s coming a close second to my love of Summer. In about 2 weeks I’ll be switching out my winter coat. Anyways, continuing from Part 1 of my books 2016 list and working down the pile of books, part 2.OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Books 2016 Part 1

When I wasn’t outside playing as a kid, my nose buried in a book. Which my Mum loved and was puzzled by. I read so much my spelling should have been amazing. It’s not and it wasn’t until my mid teens my parents realised I’m mildly dyslexic. No one ever told me and it was until P said something I thought maybe. Recently I mentioned it to my Mum and she said when they realised, it was too late. That’s why I hardly use ‘big’ words and my Spanish pronunciation isn’t what it should. I joke and it’s true I can’t pronounce words in my own language which usually lets me off a little. It doesn’t affect my day to day life much, I’ve learnt to work around it and play I’m learning Spanish. OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

For the past few years I confess I haven’t read many books since Apple released the iPhone. Internet at my (more…)
