Beauty Finds. Sioris Deep In A Barrier Cream Review

Welcome to Beauty Finds! This edition features Sioris Deep In A Barrier Cream, formally You Look So Young night cream.

I have been using this I think for about 2-3 years, so you know this a recommendation. Sioris is a Korean beauty brand that works with nature. Ingredients are seasonally harvested so depending when you buy a product the ingredients maybe slight different. Sioris are cruelty free, a member of 1% For The Planet, packed with amazing ingredients and suitable for most skin types. It was at the time of purchase the cleanest night cream I could find at Miin Cosmetics. Read on for Beauty Finds requirements or skip a paragraph for my review.

I have a few requirements when it comes to beauty products: cruelty free, natural, clean, vegan better. I do my best to avoid nasty ingredients such as SLSs, parabens, PEGs, silicones, etc. Petrochemicals are the sneakiest with so many derivatives and aliases. I also avoid palm oil and it’s derivatives as I prefer orangutans. Coconut oil marketed as the good oil, I’m also cutting down on as it can be just a damaging crop as palm oil. If I do get products containing palm or coconut oil I try to get organic or sustainably sourced. With make up it’s a little harder so I go for cruelty free brands. I prefer products with less plastic and thankfully more brands are aware consumers don’t want unnecessary plastic (or governments are telling them less plastic). My skin type’s oily sensitive, acne prone and now wrinkles. I know nothing stops those lines, but if I can delay them then….

Sioris Deep In A Barrier Cream. 50ml

A skin barrier cream infused with tamanu oil and shea butter to help balance dry, distressed skin without a greasy feel.

First up the packaging. It’s plastic there’s no getting away from that. It’s an airless pump that works. When I can’t pump any more product out, there’s only enough for one application left! However due to it being an airless pump as the bottle gets more top heavy towards the end it can be knocked over more easily. The bottle comes in a cardboard carton. All can easily be recycled (depending on recycling facilities available). The lids are big and can be used to store things in such as cotton buds and hair grips.

Okay the cream! It’s amazing. While it’s aimed at dry skin and I have oily sensitive skin, my skin loves it. It provides the right amount of moisture my skin needs to seal all the previous products in. It does leave my skin looking greasy, but I don’t care as I use it at night and it absorbs fairly well. The first use didn’t cause a breakout. Its green colour is due natural ingredients so some bottles may vary in greenness.

I like that the first ingredient is organic Citrus Junos Fruit Water or Yuzu. Yuzu is one of the best sources of vitamin C in skincare. I find my skin always reacts well to yuzu! It addition in contains macadamia nut oil, shea butter, olive oil and sunflower oil to help provide hydration. Aloe vera helps calm skin, liquorice helps ease irritation, while tamanu oil helps increase collagen production in addition containing high antioxidants to fight skin damage.

Happy ingredients!

Some reviews have commented that its scent is a little off putting. It smells of tamanu oil which is strong. TBH, it doesn’t linger and it’s not so bad. It’s a small price to pay for an amazing product. It’s mid range around €25-35 however it’s always in Miin Cosmetics sales. When it’s within 6 months of its use by date, it can be discounted where purchased. 50ml lasts quite a long time, about 4-5 months making it around €7 a month. It’s so popular it’s almost always sold out at Miin Cosmetics so I stock up in the sales when it gets sold out.

I forgot to say how to say how it is on fine lines! I’ve used it for so long I don’t know! All I know my skin looks better with it and if I don’t use it my skin feels weird. It works great with Kora Organics Noni Glow Facial Oil. Used together fine forehead lines look better in the morning. Lets just say I love vitamin C.

Would I recommend? Yes! However if you have extremely oily skin, try if you can a sample first. The tamanu oil can sting slightly and not everyone is happy with additional oiliness. Thank you for stopping by!
