Muir Beach

We stopped by after visiting Muir Woods National Monument earlier this year on our holiday vaccay to Northern California and Hawaii, Muir Beach. A cove, lagoon and beach that’s nestled along the coast by the Golden Gate National Recreation Area and Mount Tamalpais State Park. Though it was January it was still busy when we got there near sunset with a switch from the day beach goers to the dusk beach goers.

We didn’t stop long, only exploring the beach not the beach overlook as we wanted to look around Sausalito before it got dark. It was enough time for me to understand the magic of California beaches. All beaches have their charm. Maybe it’s the hype, maybe it’s because California is known for its beach life, maybe because it was my first California beach, maybe it was the mid winter light. Either way I can see why California beaches and the sea ocean draw people under their spell.

Autumn Winter Project Light

Winter’s here in the North Hemisphere! The sun’s low in the sky, the cold’s arrived. It’s only been a month since the winter solstice and already the days are noticeably longer. Longer than when they were a month leading up to the solstice. Which means spring’s in 2 months!

The sun’s so low in the sky molecules and small particles in the atmosphere change Continue reading “Autumn Winter Project Light”

Sunrises, Trees, Monkeys And Catch Up

Happy February!

Winter’s back! I always forget February gives January a run for it’s money here in which month’s the coldest. February’s short and sweet, but it packs a punch in rainy, windy, grey overcast, sunny cold days.

Next week I start my indoor climbing classes. I’ve never done anything like it before apart from climbing trees as a kid so I’m a little nervous and excited. I’m scaling down my gym workouts next week so I have energy. I know it’s probably a workout in itself, however I’m what if the first class is just theory? I won’t get my fix.

Anyways, last week when by in a blur and I didn’t get a change to stop by and say Hi Continue reading “Sunrises, Trees, Monkeys And Catch Up”

Late November Catch Up

Happy December!

I hope your week’s going okay. Apologies for not stopping by to say hi last week. The week went in a blur. I said see you later to my friend moving back to Australia with her growing family. Her big surprise before she left! I’ll miss her. We only just met this summer, following my trend of making friends only for one of us to leave within a year. I’m happy for her, yet I know I’m going to miss her loads.

The cats have had their own personal mini dramas last week, all relating to their ongoing illnesses and I was just plain lazy. Continue reading “Late November Catch Up”
