Las Salinas de Torrevieja. The Pink Lagoon Torrevieja

I can’t believe I haven’t shared photos of Las Salinas de Torrevieja or the pink salt lagoon located in Parque Natural de Las Lagunas de la Mata e Torrevieja from our Calpe 2018 holiday!

We stopped off at probably one of the nicest beaches first near Alicante, Playa de San Juan. Warm, shallow, beautiful blue and green turquoise waters. I didn’t want to leave however with the sun getting hotter, the beach busier and the afternoon shortening we debated over going to Alicante or Las Salinas de Torrevieja. P won as it’s meant to look amazing at sunset and we didn’t have long to make it for sunset (FIY I still want to go to Alicante for the old town). Inspired and amazed by the colours I went a little photosnappy…

We arrived I think an hour to 45 minutes before sunset which was plenty of time to see the water lit pink as the sunset. Located nearby is Torrevieja’s salt mine which causes one lagoon to be pink and the other lagoon green! The lagoon’s pink colour’s due Continue reading “Las Salinas de Torrevieja. Earth Day 2019

Happy Earth Day!

Protect Our Species is this year’s Earth Day theme. Everything in nature’s balanced and linked. I don’t have to tell you us humans have altered the balance and links causing climate change.

Bees, giraffes, great apes, coral reefs, whales, insects, elephants, sharks are just a few of the thousand of trees, plants, birds, animals, fish, crustaceans that could be wiped out this century due to climate change. No bees or insects to pollinate plants, no food for everyone. Bee’s are amazing insects. They dance to tell the hive Continue reading “Earth Day 2019”

Weekend Friday Favourites

I can’t believe how quickly this year’s going. A quarter of the year’s done as April says hi. With that I hope you’re having or had a great weekend!

This week’s been a little crazy as I’ve lost my voice to squeaky whisper. I’ve no idea if that’s what it actually sounds like, but that’s what it sounds like in my head making me crack up every time I do talk. It’s thanks to allergies making me cough my throat’s so sore, hence no voice. I finally have allergy medicine that’s taken the edge off so I can breath better. It’s kinda funny hearing me squeak to a whisper! That’s until I start coughing, then I’m do I laugh or cough? Until it clears up, lots of hot drinks and toast. Toast is nice soothing the throat as much as hot liquids are easing it. But enough of woe me, here’s this week’s Weekend Friday Favourites, things that have made me smile or caught my eye the past 2 weeks.

Cork Yoga Mat

My workout mat needed replacing after a good few years use as it was sliding everywhere when doing any type of jumping. Not to mention from planks and mountain climbers bits of plastic were shedding. I’d been using my yoga mat as a substitute however for some reason I like to have a separate yoga mat and workout out. Wanting to find one that was less plastic and more easily recyclable cork mats Continue reading “Weekend Friday Favourites”

1 Month Until Spring!

I’ve forgotten how warm sunshine feels like on my skin. I’ve been huddled in layers for weeks and I’m more than craving feeling some sun rays. I think the cats are too. They’ve got all the morning sun spots down. When the sun moves away from the apartment they switch to being snuggled up in blankets. They won’t have to wait long for warm sunshine longer than a few hours or an apartment that’s warm during the day. The countdown to Spring’s on. Less than 5 weeks to go!

Finally a moment to say hi! I’ve finished my 2 week beginner indoor climbing classes. I’ve really enjoyed them and am hoping continuing them. A real rock face I’ll probably shit myself and be ropes please Continue reading “1 Month Until Spring!”

Sunrises, Trees, Monkeys And Catch Up

Happy February!

Winter’s back! I always forget February gives January a run for it’s money here in which month’s the coldest. February’s short and sweet, but it packs a punch in rainy, windy, grey overcast, sunny cold days.

Next week I start my indoor climbing classes. I’ve never done anything like it before apart from climbing trees as a kid so I’m a little nervous and excited. I’m scaling down my gym workouts next week so I have energy. I know it’s probably a workout in itself, however I’m what if the first class is just theory? I won’t get my fix.

Anyways, last week when by in a blur and I didn’t get a change to stop by and say Hi Continue reading “Sunrises, Trees, Monkeys And Catch Up”
