Last month we revisited Jardi Botanic Marimurtra nestled along the Costa Brava’s rocky coastline. Garden’s aren’t really my thing, yet this one I was drawn after an internet finding things to do outside the city. Okay, it was the gondola overlooking the sea that did it!
The gondola isn’t the garden’s only star. Each twist and turn hold new gems: tropical plants, ponds, sea views, terracotta walls and sweet fragrance scents. Continue reading “Early Spring Jardi Botanic Marimurtra Part 2”
Good Friday we made it out the city or rather I made it out the city for the first time in ages! P travels a lot, I don’t as the cats are on multi medicine a day. It’s easier and cheaper for me to be the main long term cat carer. I’m okay with it and happy with day trips.
Late last Spring we found nestled along the Costa Brava coast line to Jardi Botanic Marimurtra or Marimurtra botanical gardens. We liked it so much it’s always on the go to list.
The gardens are spellbinding. Continue reading “Early Spring Jardi Botanic Marimurtra Part 1”
It was snowing in the skies above Barcelona yesterday! And fell as ice pellets or USA sleet (sleet in the UK is a mix of rain and snow). The last time it snowed in Barcelona was I think in February or March 2010. It turned into slush before the day was out. I had to walk nearly half the city back as the metro came to a standstill. My feet froze walking back to my bike, then my hands froze to the handlebars pushing it back!
Thankfully yesterday it had stopped by the time I left to cycle in. I thought it had all melted so you can imagine my surprise and big dopey grin when I saw the beaches had a light dusting of snow ice. One of the few places where it hadn’t melted. Even a few TV Continue reading “Snow in the City”
*I couldn’t keep my eyes open editing Sunday evening, so it’s a Monday Favourites.
Yep, it’s comes down to a Weekend Friday Favourites Catch Up Combo. This week’s flown by and I’m left scratching my head wondering what I’ve done this week. Very little as I’ve been consuming a little too much 5 minutes of my life I’m not going to get back aka YouTube. Which leaves me feeling irritable I haven’t been creative (I’ve included where I got this from in Internet Finds) or productive. But that’s a good thing. I get grouchy when I realise I’m watching little too much YouTube, Netflix or reading crap. Knowing where the time’s gone helps make changes.
My head feels something like this at the moment
I have however signed up for a 8hr indoor climbing introduction course starting in February! I’m super excited and equally as nervous! My upper body strength isn’t great on obstacle courses. Continue reading “Weekend Friday Monday* Favourites Catch Up Combo”
Happy New Year!
I can’t wait for a return to a sense of schedule and routine. P’s here for a few weeks, so generally when he’s here any sense of routine’s usually out. Plus side, I get lunches and dinners made for me! It doesn’t help here the Holiday festivities continue until the 6th January or Kings Day (Spain’s main present giving day). Everything at the moment is like a waiting game.To celebrate the New Year we opted for a series of hikes. New Years Eve we hiked part of the Carretera de les Aigues in Parc Collserola over looking Barcelona. Continue reading “New Year Hikes!”
