Weekend Friday Favourites

I hope your weekend’s going okay! I’m patiently counting down the days until life returns to a new normal of being allowed outside. Spain’s extended the current lockdown until 26th April. I’m hoping the weather’s not sunny skies everyday. I understand the lockdown whys but lots of sad puppy dog faces looking out the window on sunny days. Okay, rainy, cold, windy days too.

Anyway, this weeks Weekend Friday Favourites, things that have made me smile or caught my eye this week after a little break.

PopSugar Fitness

As much as I love Tone It Up, Studio Tone Up App, when it comes to cardio, I need more for my substitute run days. YouTube read my mind suggesting PopSugar Fitness! I’ve been having so much fun doing their free kickboxing and dance classes. I’m like a stick insect body rolling, I’m picking up the steps and I genuinely look forward to my classes. Classes are anything from 10-50 minutes. They also have a wide selection of HIIT, Zumba, toning and strengthening. One of my favourites, 30-Minute Latin Dance Workout with Nicole Steen when I discovered it 2 weeks about had about 5.2 million views. It’s currently at 8.1 million views! So much energy and positivity! The kickboxing class, 40-Minute Boxing and Kickboxing Workout with Christa DiPaolo fly by. I’m enjoying Deja Riley’s classes as well as others by Nicole Steen’s and Christa DiPaolo. The cherry on the top, they’re all free!!! To save my neighbours ears I put 2 yoga mats down which also help me get a better rhythm. My trainers squeak and catch on the floor tripping me up and putting me off count. Blame the tools! My ‘stomping’ puts me off and I think the neighbours will ring the doorbell asking me to stop.

Moisturising Cotton Gloves

If you have small hands, these are fine. Larger hands or longer fingers they might not fit

Leave it to my washing machine to have a breakdown in a lockdown. I’m waiting for the landlord to replace it. He’s been ill, so I understand the wait. The weather’s been windy, cold and rainy and I’m hand washing practically everything. I get bad hands in the winter anyway. Throw in hand washing they’re chapped and cut to F. I’ll put my hands up and say I forget most nights to do this. Continue reading “Weekend Friday Favourites”

January 2020 Wolf Moon

January’s Wolf Moon or to be precise February’s waxing Snow Moon was a little extra Special. I got to see the moon from the other side of the world! A Northern California and a Hawaiian Oahu moon. A moon so bright and clear in the lesser polluted skies of Hawaii. Even the stars seemed bigger and brighter. I won’t lie I didn’t want to leave Oahu (or California. Big slap in the face when back). As much as I love the mountains there’s something about the sea and ocean that draws me. If I’ve been inland a while seeing the sea and ocean I feel complete as much as I can if that makes sense.

Spanish Moon Continue reading “January 2020 Wolf Moon”

Bad Beauty Habits I’m Guilty Of

While I’m if I must say so great at remembering each day to apply SPF, deodorant, eat my greens, fruit, berries, take my vitamins and avoid processed sugar (biscuits happen every now and then), not to go against my principles of products being cruelty free or containing nasty ingredients there are some beauty habits I’m guilty of. I thought it’ll be fun to share these bad habits. So without further ado…

Sleeping With My Makeup On

I do this more times than I’d like to admit. Sometimes I’m too tired to remove my makeup! I’ll just close my eyes for 10 minutes then wash my face. 5 hours later I wash my face. Skin can’t breath if it’s under layers of makeup and cells have a harder time renewing themselves. Not to mention the build up of blackheads and sebum! I think every now and then won’t do much harm, but two or more times a week skin starts to suffer. When I do finally wake up I usually exfoliate, do a clay mask, a combo of both or a charcoal cleanser or maybe even all 3! I also workout in makeup. Not a full face, I’m no way a full face of makeup girl. BB cream, concealer, eyeshadow, eyeliner and mascara. To some this might be a bad habit, but to me it’s no different than wearing makeup everyday. Pores will get blocked just as quick. As long as I’m awake to wash it off, it’s all good.

Leaving Masks On For Longer Than Recommended Time

I read somewhere that clay masks should only be left on for ideally 3 minutes. That’s their ultimate power time. Any longer then start to loose their clay powers. Most clay masks recommended wash off time is 10-15 minutes, 20 minutes max otherwise they can actually start to dry out skin causing more problems than before by upsetting skin’s pH levels. But I can leave them on for Continue reading “Bad Beauty Habits I’m Guilty Of”

December Catch Up

A lot happened in December. Saying goodbye to D has been hard. I really thought we had more time together. Looking back at his photos I can see he was ill for longer than I thought. Being around him everyday I didn’t see it as much. I really thought the new medicine would work, but I think he missed AJ and his hoomin Mama wasn’t enough.

It’s weird not having a cat around. If I honest I feel a bit lost. They were my life. Nearly 18 years all up a cat Mama. I’m okay during the day. The daylight and sunlight helps. It’s nighttime when I get back in it hits the most. No happy face greeting me at the door. No meows, purrs demanding food or a hug. The place feels empty, quiet, way too big. I wouldn’t say it was easier after AJ as I had D to distract me but it’s just as hard. With no Diesel, the reality is more in my face. I know it was his time for his next adventure. I don’t think he wanted to go. All I know is he loved life and the way I can honour him is by doing the same.

Looking back at photos this month, I thought a lot of other stuff had happened. It didn’t. I took more photos out and about making it seem like it had. December however was a month of rainbows. Continue reading “December Catch Up”

November’s Mourning Moon

While summers are all about the sun and sunny winter days warm your soul, the moon is winter’s star. The longer winter nights light up the shining moon bathed by the sun more. It’s still there in the summer evenings if you look up, it’s just those evenings it doesn’t have that magical star power like it has in late autumn, early winter.

If I’m honest December’s Cold moonwas something. I think this has something to do with being the shortest daylight month. I’ll be sharing those photos next month! Just before sunset and during dusk as the sun’s so low in the sky, moonrise is lit up in a magical way. November’s Mourning moon was slowly Continue reading “November’s Mourning Moon”
