Golden Gate Bridge

All I knew about San Francisco before visiting earlier this year was that it’s hilly, Herbie caused mischief, the Golden Gate Bridge, Chinatown, it’s foggy and the fog horns mostly from movies and TV shows.

We wanted to get to Baker Beach which has the best photographic views of the bridge around sunset and got thick January fog instead. That didn’t stop people from still visiting the bridge, running or cycling. It perhaps was the best time to visit to hear infamous fog horns. Horns I recognised immediately thanks to countless movies and TV shows. It was oddly comforting to hear them. There’s even a number you can call up to listen to them!

Please excuse the ISO noise. It was my first time shooting in thick fog.

Early Spring

While many of us are watching spring from our windows this year and celebrated the official first day of spring inside, nature doesn’t do dates. She does arrivals. Spring started saying hello at the end of February back when we were allowed out in freedom. While summer holds a place in my heart as my favourite season, spring is very close second by a fraction. Watching everything wake up after winter gives a warm feeling of longer warmer days ahead.

The sun come the end of winter has a warmth to it. The light’s bright, trees start getting dressed, people and animals start to hang out more in the sunshine thanks to the longer days. Finding a sunny sheltered spot out of the wind is heaven! Anyways, early spring photos at the zoo and running errands. Apologies if there’s too many or if you’ve seen here them before.

Cherry blossom’s always spring. This is all the blossom I saw this yearThe same for Jasmine one of my favourite flowers and scents. All the jasmine I saw this year Plane trees starting to get dressed while shedding seed pods. Continue reading “Early Spring”

Sunrises, Trees, Monkeys And Catch Up

Happy February!

Winter’s back! I always forget February gives January a run for it’s money here in which month’s the coldest. February’s short and sweet, but it packs a punch in rainy, windy, grey overcast, sunny cold days.

Next week I start my indoor climbing classes. I’ve never done anything like it before apart from climbing trees as a kid so I’m a little nervous and excited. I’m scaling down my gym workouts next week so I have energy. I know it’s probably a workout in itself, however I’m what if the first class is just theory? I won’t get my fix.

Anyways, last week when by in a blur and I didn’t get a change to stop by and say Hi Continue reading “Sunrises, Trees, Monkeys And Catch Up”

Weekend Friday Favourites

I hope you’re having a great weekend! A short favourites finds this week. This week’s been a little all over the place hence not having many favourites to share even though last week’s WFF didn’t happen. That said there are quite a few internet finds. So without further ado….

Alley Way Late Afternoon Sun

I think this is in El Born or in the centre. I can’t remember exactly where and I don’t recognise the buildings. Continue reading “Weekend Friday Favourites”

Easter 2017

I hope you had a great long Easter weekend! Here was low key. No trips outside the city, just mini adventures in the city. So as always I’ll let the photos do the talking.

Friday

If the weather on my Birthday is how it was Friday I’ll be a happy girl. For the first time in weeks no wind, just warm sunshine. Continue reading “Easter 2017”
