The sunshine today holds whispers of Spring. Well after 4 days of heavy wind and rain any sunshine on a Winter’s day has you feeling Spring. Right now I’m patiently waiting for Spring, more than anything for the opportunity to wear lighter layers, be able to dress a little more chic. Don’t get me wrong I appreciate my jumpers, warm scarves, gloves and coat, but the thought of feeling the warm sunshine on my skin has me counting down the days. Especially as the next few days are back to cold grey. Since the wind started battering the coast last Thursday, Continue reading “High Winds”
The past few weeks walking past the deer enclosure at the zoo, I’ve been silently saying see ya on Christmas Eve! While technically they’re not reindeer, some have antlers, they’re deer, that’s enough for me to start thinking of them as reindeer. Growing up Christmas Eve, my favourite day of Christmas was filled with magic. Even now I get excited. Just a little because we all know who Father Christmas is really.
While Spain’s main festive present giving day’s Kings Day, Christmas celebrated more low key here to how I know it. Places close still early Christmas Eve Continue reading “Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Yet To Come”
My cv’s done! In English. Hallelujah! I skipped the profile bit. I couldn’t think of anything that would make me not sound like a drone. But it’s done. Up next is the fun bit, translating it onto Spanish.
Anyways, I’ll leave ya with a few photos from the past couple of days. And yes there’s zoo photos.
Sunday was the longest day of the year and yesterday as Midsummers so last weeks photo challenge is kind appropriate (I’m a little behind!)!
Most places the peak tourist seasons begun. Just before Easter and around the 1st day of Spring, beach bars or chiringuitos have returned along the beaches, the sun lounger guys have their pitches (they must make a fortune!) and of course sunbathers! A complete contrast to January when surfers were patiently waiting waves, dogs had the run of the beaches (during the summer months, only after 8pm are they allowed on the beaches) and only a few brave swimmers braved the ice water!
Unfortunately I still can’t restore properly my photos on the new iPhoto library, which is a pity as I got some great shots before my camera bust! Now it’s back, I’m relying on my iPhone camera roll and iPhone photo stream as photos that are on photo stream on the Mac I still can’t transfer to WordPress. Has anyone else encountered this issues? Anyways, enjoy!
I don’t even want to think of the amount of photos I’ve taken this month. Current photo stream says 1205 and that just my phone. That’s not including my camera! Snap happy’s an understatement!
Most of them are of the sea. I’ve been lucky enough of the last 10 years to have the Mediterranean Sea right on my doorstep and I can’t imagine now ever living far from the sea. I see her everyday, I cycle along the beaches nearly everyday. That equals a lot of photos! I’m also one of those annoying people who finds the sea beautiful all year round, even when she’s having a bad day. I take few photos of the sea during the summers months as I prefer to take them when there’s few people around (and where are these hundreds of beach goers in the winter? It’s still there!) and let her be the focus.
Anyways, I think most of my readers prefer my photos, so I’ve rounded up a selection of this months sea views. Enjoy!
