If I had gone sideways rather than forwards along the 2nd monkey bars during in the Maori Race I think I could have done them without any help. I practice going forwards and sideways on the beach monkey bars and have a wider stronger grip and overall strength if I go sideways. Plus the Maori Race monkey bars were further apart than what I’m used to, so to sideways would have meant a wider swing/base to attack them as I skip a bar sideways on the beach. For some reason it only occurred to me in the race to approach them forwards.
If you get up early enough, you’re rewarded with amazing sunrises.

The evenings are now beginning to feel like November evenings I remember growing up. The ones with that crisp autumnal chill that bites as the temps transition to colder months. While I’ve climatised to Spanish/Catalan temps, my *internal seasonal body clock’s still programmed for British winters. I brace myself every year for those chilly October nights that never come. November I’m still in lighter weight jackets thinking I should be snug in a winter coat. I guess those cold, pretty winter days growing up made a mark. I’ve haven’t seen frost since I was last in the UK a few years ago. I forgot how pretty frost covered fields and trees are in the morning light. I don’t miss however frozen feet, defrosting windshields or negotiating ice!
* Summer it’s well and truly adjusted!
Reminiscing aside, Weekend Friday Favourites. Continue reading “Weekend Friday Favourites”
When it comes to skincare, I have 4 things I look for. No animal testing, no animal ingredients I’m aware of (I eat honey, so honey and beeswax is okay. Bee venom, snail slime, I’ll pass), no SLS, parabens, petrochemicals (these are so sneaky in products) and other nasty ingredients Continue reading “July August 2016 Beauty Finds”
My love of Korean skincare shows no sign on waning! Miin and Sephora keep coming out with new lines and products. Amazon has a great range, I discovered that Narson ships to Spain and now iherb has it’s own K-Beauty range! Thankfully being picky about ingredients and animal testing, I can just keep it under control.
