Last weekend saw La Merce. A 4 day celebration of one of Barcelona’s patron saints with events held across the city including one of my favourite events here, Correfoc! A chance to run with dragons, fireworks and chase devils! It’s completely crazy and I don’t know of anywhere else where you can run under fireworks spinning above your head!
Anyways, a weekend and week catch up the following weekend because why not?
Backtracking to last Friday, the first day of autumn fall… Continue reading “First Week Of Autumn Fall 2017”
Happy Autumn Fall!
First up, my thoughts are with those dealing with Hurricane Maria and in Mexico. Stay Strong!
This week I actually had something of a social life outside the gym. That said I can go to the gym and not talk to anyone the whole time I’m there. Some days it just goes like that. Other’s I run into people I know Continue reading “Last Week Of Summer 2017”
Summer’s being bittersweet this week. The days are hot, the wind’s been enough to make me nearly cry cycling in, mostly when I really don’t need it to be so windy, yet provides a little respite from the heat when not sprint cycling and beach temps are prefect for sneak way beach siestas. The bitter sweetness, sunrises are later and sunsets earlier and September starts in a week signals Autumn Fall’s arrival. I hope you’re having a great week! I’ve been getting to the gym early at the cost of Continue reading “Late August Catch Up”
While Spain’s great for somethings, sunshine, olive oil, tapas, big sale discounts is one thing I discovered it’s not. I’ve mentioned before sale discounts aren’t much here. Normally 20-30% which isn’t to be sniffed at, but the big discounts of 40-60% are normally reserved for the non Spanish retailers or it’s only department store El Corte Ingles. As most European high street shops are owned by Spanish Inditex, big discounts only occur towards the end of August on stock nobody really wants. I’m beginning to think this year the sales have been and gone without me noticing.
Even non Spanish stores I’ve noticed this summer have fewer discounts, fewer sale signs in windows. Maybe the big discounts are all on online. I haven’t really looked online as the shops are just down the road, Continue reading “No Hay Rebajas Aqui And Catch Up”
I’ve been keeping zoo photos to a minimum for a while. Mainly to avoid repeats, same old, does she ever take photos other than at the zoo. Sometimes!
I know when studying animals especially their behaviour you’re not meant to apply anthropomorphism. Likening human behaviour, traits, mannerisms to animals. It’s hard not to when the chimps are waiting Continue reading “Mid/Late Spring Zoo Photos Part 1”
