One thing that’s never going to get easier is not having Mr AJ or Mr D, the boys, the cats around. January was the first full month without coming back to a happy face at the door. The first month without looking after a furry being. I’m still not used to being told it’s breakfast or dinner time. No one to keep me or my routine in check. No gentle or knock you over head butts. No purrs, just an empty silence. If I’m honest I feel lost without those 2. I have too much spare time on my hands.

A friend asked if I’m enjoying the freedom. I wasn’t sure how to take that. I know she meant well, but they were never a burden. If you’ve never spent part of your life with a cat or dog, you’re missing out on so much. So without pi**ing her off with a blunt f you answer I answered with, a lonelier freedom.

Most of January was quiet. Spain celebrates King’s Day on the 6th January so things don’t start to get back ‘normal’ until around the 2nd week of January. P asked if I wanted to get away. At first I was hesitant. There might be lots of changes this year (thanks Brexit) and I was concerned about money. Initially I thought of Portugal then cheekily suggested the Big Sur I’ve always wanted to see. Suddenly we found ourselves 2 weeks later on a plane to Continue reading “January Catch Up”
Last month we revisited Jardi Botanic Marimurtra nestled along the Costa Brava’s rocky coastline. Garden’s aren’t really my thing, yet this one I was drawn after an internet finding things to do outside the city. Okay, it was the gondola overlooking the sea that did it!
The gondola isn’t the garden’s only star. Each twist and turn hold new gems: tropical plants, ponds, sea views, terracotta walls and sweet fragrance scents. Continue reading “Early Spring Jardi Botanic Marimurtra Part 2”
I hope you’re had a great May Day and having a great week so far!
Breaking bad old habits are 10 times harder than creating them. I always read starting new habits take 21 days. I don’t often read about breaking them. Or is breaking them about starting them?
Few articles mention identifying the triggers that set off habits or that will power is the most powerful key you have against stopping them. Our brains like the path of least resistant to keep energy levels Continue reading “Cirque Du Soleil, Breaking Habits And A Pink Moon”
I hope you had a great weekend!
Spring as I like it arrived this Sunday. A sunny 18-20C making me one happy girl! Okay, maybe not being impatient wanting to wear shorts now and knowing that’s it’s not quite warm enough for shorts yet. Soon Nat, soon!
This weekend we got out the city again to walk more of the Camin de Ronda or part of the old anti smugglers route along the Costa Brava. The way to find path starts is to ignore the sat nav once you’re the chosen costal town, seeing where the car ends up letting your inner explorer take over. Back tracking however to Friday the cats had another vet visit. Continue reading “Cala Castell, Castell Cap Roig And The Zoo”
Good Friday we made it out the city or rather I made it out the city for the first time in ages! P travels a lot, I don’t as the cats are on multi medicine a day. It’s easier and cheaper for me to be the main long term cat carer. I’m okay with it and happy with day trips.
Late last Spring we found nestled along the Costa Brava coast line to Jardi Botanic Marimurtra or Marimurtra botanical gardens. We liked it so much it’s always on the go to list.
The gardens are spellbinding. Continue reading “Early Spring Jardi Botanic Marimurtra Part 1”
