I hope you’re having a great weekend! If I’m honest my mood this weekend is matching the weather outside. Blah. Life throws curve balls sometimes too many at once. But this is Weekend Friday Favourites, things that have made me smile this week or caught my eye!
Okay, I feel a bit old to be wearing scrunchies as I remember them back in the 90’s. I got some back in 2018 when they first started making their comeback and left them on my dressing table brightening it up. After watching a YouTube video where a hair dermatologist recommended they were the best hairband to avoid hair breakage I was okay, let’s start wearing them again. First at home then I braved wearing them at the gym. The hair dermatologist was right! Less breakage! Now my hair is longer I’d had enough of hair ties tangling up in the ends Continue reading “Weekend Friday Favourites”
This past Wednesday in my arms I said my last see you later to Mr D, aka Diesel. My cheeky, happy go lucky ray of sunshine. He hadn’t been well for a few years, yet all his illnesses were overshadowed by Angelous’s. I think he had the same tummy issues as Angelous however due to his age when realised the vet advised against a biopsy. The last few months the signs were there, I didn’t see or didn’t want to see them. The last week and a bit he stopped wanting to eat then he withdrew from life, which hurt as he loved life.
He had 2 speeds. All out or fast asleep! Anything new that came into the house had to be inspected. He loved playing, loved annoying his bother who he adored. You could tell by how he followed him around. They had so many chases and play fights, never drawing blood. He loved hugs, had a meow just for a hug. He talked so much! Let me know loudly when it was breakfast or dinner time, he answered me back, he chirped, meurred, purred when it was hug time. For someone so tiny his headbutts could knock you off balance. If he didn’t like something he let you know loudly! He hated car journeys above 95kmph. He started singing in protest Continue reading “See You Later Diesel!”
Photography’s about taking an image of light. That’s all photography is, capture of light. Project Light a series of light changing through the seasons captured with nature, landscapes, animals and the city.
My Mum always says you can take the girl out the country but you can’t take the country out the girl. This is partly true. I love living on the outskirts of the city albeit within another town on the boundary, no countryside insight, only mountains in the distance. I have all the city’s amenities at my fingertips. I’m not sure I could go back to living in a small town or the countryside. I like the ease of a city. I have Continue reading “Project Light: September and October”
Swan’s aren’t the only ugly ducklings. Flamingo chicks after their cute baby chick white plumage turns grey are ugly duckling contenders. Once they hit teenage chicks months their beauty starts to shine. Grey slowly starts turning pink as they start feeding for themselves.
I always love watching baby flamingos grow up in just a few months at Barcelona Zoo. I just hope when they get rehomed, it’s a good place. Nesting started back in May and all are now in nursery or kindergarten. Some chicks only hatched last week. Maybe this was a space thing at the zoo or a hierarchy thing. It’s sweet how they’re being independent but still need Mama and Dad to feed them. Continue reading “Flamingo Chicks”
Intermittent Weekend Friday Favourites is back! Consistent posting just isn’t happening at the moment. I’ve upped my climbing classes until June, however I’m spending as many five minutes as I can writing posts. I read a great quote in Instyle USA Magazine earlier this year from Li Bingbing. A Chinese proverb goes a little like this: Time is like water in a sponge. You can always find time if you squeeze hard enough.
Warm May temps have been moody chill May temps.
Anyway, I hope you’re having a fun weekend and I’ll leave ya with Weekend Friday Favourites. Things that have made me smile or caught my eye recently.
Birthday Cake! Continue reading “Weekend Friday Favourites”
