Today I’m sharing with you my recently discovered inexpensive, natural not so secret trick to longer stronger hair, nails and eyelashes naturally! No Lilash, castor oil or other lash enhancers required!
I’m sure many of you have heard or know about brewer’s yeast. It’s main use is for healthy skin, hair and nails. My Mum’s been taking them for years I think to help with thyroid issues. Doggy Ben my parents last dog, bless him, used to have a tablet a day. My Mum always said it’s what made his coat and eyes glossy.
I started taking a brewer’s yeast supplement back in the summer as I was concerned about my energy levels. I thought an added dose of B vitamins would help. The science bit: brewer’s yeast is a yeast derived from barley during beer making. It’s official name, Saccharomyes Cerevisiae and it’s packed with vitamins B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B7 or VH and B9. Also present is chromium (not always in debittered tablets), selenium, iron, zinc, potassium and amino acids. Vitamins and minerals needed for healthy hair and nails!
I’m not sure it helped my energy levels. I still night nap, however I’m not too concerned about them now after reading about 1st and 2nd sleep which is what my sleep pattern tends to follow. Just the lack of productivity bothers me.
My nails however! I can’t believe how quickly they grow now or how much stronger they are. I’d pretty much given up on my nails. I chewed them way back then. They’d get to a certain length and break. About 3 months after I started taking brewer’s yeast I noticed my nails were longer. I usually do my nails every 2 weeks and I was noticing a week and half later there was something different about them. The length! 2 months later I noticed they were stronger with less breakage. I can’t tell you how happy I am I have healthy nails!
The biggest surprise was last week. I noticed my eyelashes are so much longer, thicker and curler! Thinking it might be the brewer’s yeast, I did some research and found a few other girls noticed longer eyelashes after taking a yeast mix for a month. Beats Lilash, is fraction of the price (and maybe safer)!
Juvamine, a good French brewer’s yeast widely available throughout Europe. It has a nice ‘Marmite’ aftertaste!
The post also mentioned girls noticed their hair was growing faster. Hair grows on average about 1cm a month and with the yeast the girls noticed it was on average growing 2.5cm a month! Wowzas! The tail end of brewer’s yeast benefits are the nails, lashes and hair. It’s worked it’s magic internally and is now showing externally. I’m currently under Oway Rebuilding Treatment so I’m not sure if it’s all that but I have noticed it’s length and shine between cuts. I get it cut around the Equinoxes and Solstices for some lunar hair magic (forget the last few weeks before a cut. It’s not looking it’s best) so in 3 months it will be longer, but since its last cut a few weeks ago the length is more or less back already!
As for my skin, it’s looking better. It’s not perfect. Using natural Korean skincare has helped, but I have noticed better texture, it’s smoother (wrinkles, well) and does look healthier. But again, I’m not sure if it’s the products I use or a combination of both. However, if you want longer stronger nails, hair and eyelashes and are prepared to wait a few months for results, I highly recommended taking a brewer’s yeast supplement. It’s inexpensive and widely available. iherb.com sells it for about for €6 for 200 tablets!
