Last month P, D the cat and I took a last minute weekend road trip to the Basque Country! In Part #1 I’m sharing our weekend adventure with Parts #2 and #3 more photos as there’s way to many for one post. You might want a cup of tea for this one.
We didn’t know the Bilbao Night Marathon was that weekend making most places that allowed pets sold out both in and outside of Bilbao booked up. We initially thought San Sebastian but everywhere that was reasonably priced was sold out included self catering that we usually go for. We found a great pet friendly hotel, Petite Palace in Getxo up from Bilbao along the coast.
The Guggenheim Museum The Guggenheim Museum’s a must see visiting Bilbao! Designed to pay heritage to Bilbao’s shipping past the exteriors are a play on boats. The famous spider’s the other side of the museum along the river. Initially I thought we had to pay to see Continue reading “Basque Country Road Trip 2019. Part #1”
Today I’m sharing one of my favourite time of the day: Sunrise! Way too often than I care to admit being still in the land of zzzz I miss them. When I do catch one I feel like it’s going to be a good day!
Watching the day’s first light rise over the sea lightening up the sky and sometimes the sea peaches, lilacs, purples, blues and pinks, followed by a glowing ball of pink makes me feel alive and full energy. I alway say hi and never forget how lucky I am to watch the sun rise over the sea before turning into its daylight yellow. Sunsets with all their vivid colours don’t compare to that ball of pink say hello Earth. Or is it one half the of Earth saying hi to the sun if you’re really going to get into technicalities?
As usual way too many photos to share and while it’s my favourite time of the day, I’m not the best at capturing them. Anyways, sunrises from this summer and past couple of months.
These are around Midsummer when for a few weeks the sun rises over land Continue reading “Pretty Sea Sunrises”
Welcome to a long over due Weekend Friday Favourites. Things that have made me smile or caught my eye recently.
Excuses as to why I’ve been absent lately I’m blaming here on Mercury being in retrograde. That’s my excuse! Anyway I hope you’re having a great weekend and lets get into this week’s hopefully short and sweet Weekend Friday Favourites
Jata Hogar Mini Manual Chopper
Out shopping with ChefPaulGuru aka P a few months back he got all excited coming across this mini manual chopper. My face was probably really, you excited over this?! Before he was here for a few months I started making smashed chickpea and avocado salads. He said this would be perfect for chopping them up. It wasn’t that expensive, about €10 and knowing unless I had examples made I probably wouldn’t use it, made a few salads with it. It really is easy to use and I use it about Continue reading “Weekend Friday Favourites”
Hola! Hello! Where’ve ya been?! Long time no see!
Now that Mercury is no longer in retrograde I’m feeling more myself. Yep, that’s what I blaming my absence on for the few natjtan readers. That and time ran away with a huge creative slump.
P was back for a few months. Laundry tripled! Laundry can take what seems life forever more so when hanging it out to dry. Flip side I got lunches Continue reading “Catch Up”
For my Birthday earlier this month I had no idea what to do. If I was on my own I’d have gone to the zoo usual for a Sunday. Surprise huh?! P’s here so he hired a car for the weekend. I knew I wanted to be outside somewhere along the coast, but where?!
The weather for the weekend kept changing from rain to sunny skies. From 22C to 19C. Searching for a place to go Calella de Parafrugell came up. It looked kinda cute plus it’s part of the Cami de Ronda, a former smugglers path along most of Costa Brava’s rugged coastline which we’re gradually walking parts of. Famous for its 9 coves and painted fishing huts Continue reading “Calella de Parafrugell and Llafranc”
