Summer

Long time no see! How’s your summer?

Mine got a little busy with everyday life, holiday in Mallorca, Mac iPhoto misbehaving and something had to take back seat for a while. Sadly natjtan. It got a little frustrating, but like an old Chinese proverb I saved from an Li BingBing Instyle Magazine Interview back when I used to read it: Time is like water in a sponge. You can always find it if you squeeze hard enough. Another way of saying if you want it, you’ll make time or find a way. I always feel I can never commit myself to things 100% as there’s always something else calling me or needs doing in a house of chores. Forget the evenings. My eyes are so heavy they just want to close.

Castelldefels

P was here for a while so I couldn’t do as much as usual (he knows that), gyms closed for a local recommneded stay at home ‘lockdown’ for a few weeks due to a raise in covid-19 cases along with the zoo, cinemas, bars and restaurants back to reduced capacity. My gym and the city council along with a few other gyms petitioned against the regional government’s decision to close the gyms under the hastag #deporteessalud: sport is health rebelling initially against the closure. The Justice court overturned the gym closure decision. I was getting more demotivated everyday to workout at home, putting off for later. After 3 months working out at home then back at the gym for a month, then at home again I really missed the gym. Even if I don’t talk to anyone there, I concentrate better, it’s air conditioned, I get out the house. The zoo petitioned to stay open, reopening 5 days later after joining both my gym, climbing gym in being rebels staying open. The zoo on its initial reopening after the end of lockdown already had a Covid-19 Global Safe Site certificate and a Safe Tourism Certified seal, yet they had to reclose again too.

March Catch Up

Happy Spring!

Woohoo! Spring’s officially here!

Warmer longer days, yes please! Spring’s being say hi here for a few weeks and only now it’s just just warm enough for a denim jacket, T-shirt with a jumper needed at night. Though I’ve been more like the locals, sticking with my lightweight puffer jacket. Cherry blossom’s out already and trees are getting dressed. Aside from allergies, this girl’s happy spring’s here!

Anyway, for anyone interested a little March catch up. Continue reading “March Catch Up”

Night Walks and Autumnal Fall Changes

Thanks mostly to my exceptional organisational skills, most of our walks happen late afternoon near sunset. Every intention is given to getting out early with walks last weekend being no exception. I’m thinking for a month just get up at either 5 or 6 am regardless off how much sleep I’ve had to make me the morning person in my head I am. I wouldn’t even say I’m a night owl as an excuse.

My September beat the snooze button challenge failed. Not a complete failure as the feeling of disappointment getting up later is enough to Continue reading “Night Walks and Autumnal Fall Changes”

The Feeling Of Being Some Place New

August not only is the hottest month in Spain, it’s also the unofficial national holiday month. Government offices, a few local businesses will close for the afternoons. Some take the whole month off using up all their annual holiday and aside from tourists spots places slow down taking it easy as temps go up.

I’ve accepted with both cats on medicine numerous times of day, holidays are only if cats can come. In the past, I’ve had friends or colleagues look after Continue reading “The Feeling Of Being Some Place New”

Last Weekend of April and May Day 2017 Part 2: The Zoo, Earth Day Fair and Parc del Garraf

Part of of the last weekend of April and May Day can be found here.

I waited until the rain had stopped Sunday morning before running. I don’t mind running in the rain, however the rain was meant to stop half way through my run and as it was warmish I didn’t want deal with running tying jackets around my waist. I took advantage of waiting to get some overdue tidying done. That was until we went to Ikea this week to replace some shelving units, pulled everything out that I’ve still to go through along with rearranging furniture. The changes are better, so much space opened up!

Parc del Garraf

Run done in perfect running weather and hardly anyone out (even better!) Continue reading “Last Weekend of April and May Day 2017 Part 2: The Zoo, Earth Day Fair and Parc del Garraf”
