Happy World Wildlife Day!
In honour of World Wildlife Day some of my favourite wildlife photos taken this year! Can I go back to Hawaii and California please?! Seriously though, the UN’s World Wildlife Day is to raise awareness to help conserve our biodiversity. Everything is connected making Earth stable no matter how big or small. Nature likes balance and without wildlife our world would be turned upside down for the roles they play. Every little thing we can do to help conserve wild fauna and flora no matter how small. Our planet is filled with beautiful treasures if you take time to look or just be patient to see what will say hi 🙂

Welcome to a long over due Weekend Friday Favourites. Things that have made me smile or caught my eye recently.
Excuses as to why I’ve been absent lately I’m blaming here on Mercury being in retrograde. That’s my excuse! Anyway I hope you’re having a great weekend and lets get into this week’s hopefully short and sweet Weekend Friday Favourites
Jata Hogar Mini Manual Chopper
Out shopping with ChefPaulGuru aka P a few months back he got all excited coming across this mini manual chopper. My face was probably really, you excited over this?! Before he was here for a few months I started making smashed chickpea and avocado salads. He said this would be perfect for chopping them up. It wasn’t that expensive, about €10 and knowing unless I had examples made I probably wouldn’t use it, made a few salads with it. It really is easy to use and I use it about Continue reading “Weekend Friday Favourites”
The best things in life are free. Flip side, there’s no such thing as free dinner. Nature’s free for everyone. Inspiring and motivating us, making us feel good being surrounded by greenery, water or even sitting warm sunshine’s free. How we as humans treat nature maybe we shouldn’t haven’t it for free. Without sounding too preachy our actions may not immediately affect our own countries environments instead affecting other countries environments and how nature’s linked, it will affect our countries at some point. Nature always wins. Nature likes to survive. Nature likes balance. I sometimes feel we as humans are the caretakers of Earth and we’re not doing a great job looking after it. Nature on our own doorstep might not feel or look as beautiful as a far away tropical climate to care, (those in that tropical place might feel the same?) but it is and it’s free.
I know many people don’t agree with zoos (maybe if we took better care of nature and the environment we wouldn’t need them). There are some bad ones out there. Barcelona Zoo’s aim is to help endangered species around with world and raise awareness of Spain’s own wild animals. Some resident enclosure’s I’d love to be bigger Continue reading “Winter Zoo”
Thanks to an early dentist appointment and the gym done early last week, I got to spend 2 whole hours at the zoo. 2 whole hours! Normally I get there moments before last entry with 30 minutes, okay 45 minutes as I found out they have a 15-20 minute grace period to say hi the to residents. When they switch to Spring/Summer hours I’ll have an hour if I make last entry.
I got to see more of the improvements and construction work going on. The Roman ruins discovered Continue reading “Afternoon At The Zoo”
You read about it, watch it on TV, YouTube or on your phone, iPad like me, animals using tools. You smile thinking well of course, animals are intelligent. How else do you think they’ve been around for so many hundreds of thousands of millions of years. That is until you see it for yourself in real life and you’re blown away. Then shame creeps in that you thought being a human you’re superior being conditioned to think we are or as humans automatically think like that.
A few weeks ago at Barcelona Zoo, I was watching the orangutans getting ready Continue reading “Amazing Orangutans”
