Being vegan you’d probably think that Lush and The Body Shop are 2 places I shop at for things beauty related. They’re cruelty free, campaign for countries to ban animal testing and promote the use of natural ingredients. Those aspects I like. The actual products I don’t like so much. Both brands contain some not so great ingredients. Both I feel are overpriced for what they are. Lush, I’ve never really liked even way back in London though I like their stance on not using synthetic to no preservatives, supporting local community from who they purchase ingredients and helping environmental organisations. Both however I feel are more hype than they are about the actual products. However I was bored last month and popped into Lush.
I ignored the alarm bells of hygienie, the overpowering perfume wafting everywhere and ended up being swayed by the bright colours and boredom. I was looking for a new face exfoliator and am always on the look out for non palm oil body soaps to try. The first display I saw as I walked in was Continue reading “My First and Probably My Last Time Shopping At Lush”
Beauty Finds is back!
These are a few finds from way back in November and December last year. Some products you know what will work or not work straight away, others takes a few weeks. As our skin renews itself every month I like to give most products a chance to see if they work.
I have a few requirements with beauty finds. No animal testing and no animal ingredients apart from honey as I’m a bad vegan and eat it. Bee venom, royal jelly, snails slime, shark squalane, lanolin, no. No crap ingredients like SLS, parabens, phthalates, mineral oil aka petroleum Continue reading “November December 2017 Beauty Finds”
Nothing all week then, 2 posts in 1 day. Let’s just say someone made time to do something else she loves other than working out and sorting out that pile of books that’s been building up.
I hope you’re having a great weekend! Once again I’m left on a Sunday wondering where the week went. It went by with its usual workouts, runs, cleaning up after the cats (do all male species miss aim peeing?), catching up with friends and working on a better routine. I’ve identified where non productive time goes vs chores, Continue reading “Weekend Friday Favourites”
I hope you’re having a great weekend! I was meant to start wrapping Christmas presents and those cards I wish I didn’t have to do but are expected this weekend. In true Nat style everything’s sitting unwrapped and unwritten before my last self imposed shipping day next Wednesday. I seem to work better with a little bit of pressure, leaving things to the last minute. I think my Mum’s the same. I still have to find an outfit for next week’s Buff Epic Run a costume, untimed obstacle race. I’ve had about 6 weeks already to come up with an idea. No pressure.
In keeping with last minute, I’m writing this late Sunday evening. Weekend Friday Favourites, things that have made me smile this week or caught my eye. Please share in the comments below what’s been making you smile recently or caught your eye! Continue reading “Weekend Friday Favourites”
