Welcome to another Beauty Finds! This edition is Dr Paw Paw Original Balm Multipurpose Soothing Balm With Natural PawPaw.
First up some clarification. I got this confused with the Australian version of this balm. I’d heard a lot about Lucas Pawpaw Ointment, an Aussie cult classic and all sense of it’s plastic don’t get it went out of my head seeing it in Urban Outfitters. I wanted to try it! The ingredients are good, clean, natural. I finally get to try a cult classic! Skip a paragraph for the review or read on for my beauty finds requirements.
Welcome back to another Beauty Finds. This edition is Honest Beauty Gloss-C Lip Gloss!
I’m more of neutral lip balm girl than lipstick or lip gloss girl, but every now and then I sway to the dark side of glosses and tinted lip balms. So when Douglas España finally got in the Gloss-C (get it?!) lip gloss this girl was tempted.
I have a few requirements when it comes to beauty products: cruelty free, natural, clean, vegan better. I do my best to avoid nasty ingredients such as SLSs, parabens, PEGs, silicones, etc. Petrochemicals are the sneakiest with so many derivatives and aliases. I also avoid palm oil and it’s derivatives as I prefer orangutans. Coconut oil marketed as the good oil I’m also cutting down on as it can be just a damaging crop as palm oil. If I do get products containing palm or coconut oil I try to get organic or sustainably sourced. With make up it’s a little harder so I go for cruelty free brands. I prefer products with less plastic and thankfully more brands are aware consumers don’t want unnecessary plastic (or governments are telling them less plastic). My skin type’s oily sensitive, acne prone and now wrinkles. I know nothing stops those lines, but if I can delay them then….
As the above requirements say with make up it’s hard to find clean ingredients. Thankfully there are some brands that know some girls want clean make up that’s not crazy. Honest Beauty is one of them. Jessica Alba always looks amazing and I’d like to think she wearing her own beauty line when she comes to promoting Honest or in her acting promo tours. Most of her Honest Beauty make up line I’ve tired I like, so I was surprised when Douglas España got the lip gloss so quickly in after it was released last year. Normally new Honest Beauty products take a while to become available on Douglas, where it’s available in Europe (such as the shampoo and conditioner. I think they were one of the first products back when she started Honest and only this year Douglas España has got them in! I think Douglas Germany has had them in for a few years). I like too that they’re no fuss packaging with minimal ingredients. Any interview Jessica Alba gives where she’s asked what does she look out for in products, she always says she avoids perfume and a long list of ingredients. Plus that marketing ploy if we buy into the brand we’re buying into that person, model, image and get to feel like them for a second and our lives automatically become better just by buying that product. Jessica Alba always looks like she has the best life so maybe wearing it I can get some Jessica Alba sparkle! See, I can fall for that too!
