The Moon, The Vets and Rain

Advertisements

I almost convinced the cats are trying to turn me into one of them. As I sat down to read a little Sunday before writing Weekend Friday Favourites that never was, AJ came and snuggled up next to me. He started purring and it wasn’t long after I got sleepy and out like a light. Tuesday I think it was revenge for taking them to the vets. She took us to that place! That place where we get thermonitors in places we don’t wanna say and shaved necks.

I hope you’re having a great week so far! I can’t believe it’s Thursday already. This week’s flying past, yet I feel nothing’s got done. Anyways, I’ll leave ya with some photos of the past couple of days.

2 days before Saturdays full moon

Cycling back under a full moon Saturday after a trip to La Maquinista. Say what you like about shopping Forever21 in your 30’s. If you hunt you can find items that aren’t for those under 25. Bottoms are touch and go, but for tops and accessories you can find some great finds. There’s also a Hollister there which surprised me a few months ago. They’ve toned down the label to barely there on many pieces so it’s wearable if over 20. I’ve also discovered if there’s an item you like that you feel is too much for what it is in the front of the shop, wait 2-3 weeks and it’s normally on the sale rack at the back for 30% off or more.

Back to the moon, Mars, Saturn and the star Antares are visible too. Mars is the tiny dot at 4 o’clock. It’s kinda cool you can see them without telescopes. Fridays run view with near crystal clear water off the jetty.Saturdays workout with Mr AJ. Who wants the mat all to himself. 15km run Sunday with Spartan training: my hydration pack. I’m not sure if I didn’t fill enough or as much as last week or too much air, but the sloshing was noisy. My music drowned most of it out, but it got me thinking, 21km race with 35 plus obstacles. It’s not your usual 1/2 marathon where you can hold. You’re covered mud. Sometimes it’s dried until the next mud pit, so would anyone notice if you didn’t find a bush? I’ve never really thought about or read about pit stops on ultra runs. Do you just continue, are there services at the water stations, do you find a bush? If you know, please shout!

No surprise monkey bars and muscles ups (attempted) were a little more difficult. Could that be because you had extra weight with the pack? My motto, train harder than the real deal so the real deal doesn’t feel as tough. In theory! And can you believe it rained 2 hours later?

Obviously there’s been the zoo. 2 trips last week.Chimps are just like us or are we just like them? There was break in the rain Sunday, so I chanced making the zoo in time. I got a little wet going, but it was worth it. The sun came out shortly afterwards and it was like I had the whole place to myself. Peacocks and Flamingos drying offHappy dance and happy claps Monday. My gym finally has kettlebells, sandbags (well, kinda. These aren’t hardcore where the  weight moves around. The weight seems central), slam balls, ugi balls, TRX’s (I still take my own) and I’m not sure of the correct name, an adult climbing frame! While I have kettle bells and sandbags at home, there may have been and is this week, extra circuits, trying everything out. For now I have it mostly to myself beside the calisthenic bar guys, which I’m gonna enjoy while it lasts. I’m one proud cat mama with Mr D. We went for his blood tests and usually their old clinic asked requested no food after midnight with an am appointments. It took a few visit with the cats together and separately to realise Aj’s blood tests were cheaper. D as I found out had to put under anaesthetic. When their vet moved recently to open his own clinic they booked us for an afternoon visit, which initially confused me. The vet let me hold AJ for his test with no issues, but D had to have his tests a few weeks later as Mama didn’t always remember his medicine (yes bad mama). In-between this time I remembered back in France, D had a blood test no anaesthetic needed as P and I were there. Rather than put D threw the stress of gas if there’s no need, the vets was okay to try taking his blood when I was present. Long story short (ha!), Diesel was a superstar. I held him, he didn’t meow, lash out, took it all in his stride as his Mama was there saying how much of a good boy he is. The vet couldn’t believe how calm he was. Cat mama, dog mama, human mama, mama’s know best!

Has this week flown by so quickly you don’t know what day it is or has it dragged so much, the weekend can’t come quick enough?!
