Happy May!

May’s one of my favourite months, purely because it’s mine and Aj’s birthday month. I’m hoping for my b’day it’s sunny and warm enough for a sneaky sun siesta. If it happens to be at the beach, well that’s icing. The weather for the next week or so is predicted rain. Not ideal b’day weather!

A new hot water tank’s being installed today (happy dance!) so I can finally wash my make up brushes, do my nails aka mani pedi (the shower’s my foot bath before) and not take as long in the shower as before. The past week or so I think I’ve had the quickest showers ever and it would be great to continue the shorter showers saving some water. Ha Ha. But that first hot shower in a over week. Oh my I can’t wait. I’ve had a few hot showers thanks to the gym, but it’s not the same. They run like self timer taps, you have to keep pressing the on button every 30 seconds or so. And if someone showers in the cubicle next to you, well.

Anyways, I hope you’re having a great week and weekend catch up on a Thursday? That’s how it rolls sometimes. Friday I had no idea how, I made the last zoo gates, before meeting up with a friend of tea. I forget that you need girlie chats. Friday evenings a odd time for tea, but it was the only time she had all week, sandwiched between her body pump karate classes. I like her as she has her priorities right. Fitness first!

Belly rubs! These guys have the ultimate mohawks

Weaning wallaby the way

Saturday was quiet. The weather wasn’t the greatest. Nice and warm in the morning with clouds arriving in the afternoon. After some more Kon Mari Method sorting out and Tone It Up’s new Beach Babe 4 DVD (full of new exercises, some I’ve already added to my own workouts) it was a little window shopping after a quick bike ride along the beaches and I ain’t gonna lie it was cold enough nearly for a winter coat. I refused, resisted temptation to dig out my newly washed ready for next winter coat seeing as the next day was the 1st of May with the weather predicted to be 20C. Instead I layered up a short lightweight quilted/puffer jacket under my lighter kakhi jacket. It did the trick even if I felt a like little Michelin Man complete with gloves.Sunday after chores and longish run, I wanted to make the zoo again. It was perfect weather, but thanks to the crowds visiting the last day of the Feria de Abril, there was not way I was gonna make it in time. It was such a nice day I didn’t want to head back (and do Weekend Friday Favourites which I should of), especially with it being a holiday. Everywhere was crowed. I’ve been meaning to go to Barcelona Aquarium for a while and though as it’s so sunny, few people will be visiting. I’ve been before and my gamble of few people paid off, but I’m not going to lie after 5 minutes I was bored and still had the whole exhibit to go. Don’t get me wrong, I love undersea, but I prefer land animals and trees.

Fish of the pier, no idea (I think it was burnt later) and half way turn around visita

Barcelona Aquarium

These guys freaked me out slightly. Those climbing up the tank looked like the host in Alien.

Nemo! Is any aquarium complete without these guys? Along with the penguins who I felt sorry for as they don’t get any natural light, Nemo’s clownfish were my favourites.

I wonder if these guys are a perfect circle laid out flat.

As for Monday, a brand new pair running shorts I’d only worn once, the toggle thingy got caught up in the washing machine which put up a fight getting it out. Another pair of running shorts only worn twice are stuck at the bottom of the drawers. I can’t fish them out as the drawer are fixed on the runners and it’s a built in wardrobe. Add dropping a hard to find reusable 1.5l plastic water bottle (750ml’s the norm here) I’ve only had a few weeks, all over the day’s old new gym stretch area floor. Snapped in two. Whatevers, I get hot water today 🙂

New mats arrived in the week and I’m told more toys are arriving in the next few weeks including a monkey and cathletics bar! One of the best birthday presents!

Which animals freak you out? Large spiders, crabs (spiders of the sea) freak me out with their articulated legs .
