Outta Excuses

I’m clean outta excuses with my recent blogging schedule. I’ve blamed night naps, but I’m just plain lazy. I had posts lined up, they didn’t happen. I’ll take these 2 weeks off of intermittent posting as a break. I thought you were out of excuses!

Monday I felt like I was on a school run, except it was a cat vet run. Diesel was in early Monday morning for blood tests, then collecting him that evening with AJ for his check up. That no food after midnight before blood tests otherwise they’ll turn in Gremlins doesn’t work. They did turn into Gremlins. Monday mornings protesting for breakfast. They knew just before midnight there was food in their bowls, which I removed much to their digust 30 minutes later. They went for a snack, stopped in front of the bowls as if to say, ‘wait a minute, where’s my food!’. In a effort to feed themselves breakfast while I got ready, they knocked down 1 plant and threw up what they ate of it. Little Gremlins!

Can’t see me now! Diesel
I can see you! Mr D at the vets

He’ll never admit it, he missed his brother while he was at vets. I had a little lamb following me around!Aj

Diesel has hyperthyroidism which explains his odd meowing. Both are on medicine twice a day. AJ’s lost a bit more weight, has intermittent diarrhea and the sniffles, but the vet says it’s a little to early to tell if his medicine’s working. Both back in 2 weeks for a check up. The little fur balls are troopers. Neither like their medicine, catch that cat’s played a lot. D’s medicine seems to be working. His day to day meows haven’t changed which I was concerned about as he’s a great talkative cat. I’ve hardly heard his odd meowing cries. The times he has it’s been in a different tone and I’ve hardly heard them the past 2 days. Still no dried food for either, just loads of chicken. Which is just purfect with them!

One particular book has taken up my time this week, The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying by Marie Kondo recommended by Julie from PBFingers. It arrived Tuesday and I’ve been stuck in it ever since. It’s a self help book in diguise. Basically by sorting out all our clutter we can workout and address other issues. The blurb on the back: ‘The key to successful tidying is tackling your home in the correct order, keeping only what you really love and doing it all at once. This incredibly easy method will not just transform your space, it will change you too. You will feel more confident, become more successful and be motivated to create the life you want.’The Life Changing Magic of Tidying by Marie Kondo

I often said I feel lighter outdoors, ideas come when I’m cycling, things are clearer when I’m outside as maybe I’m surrounded by less clutter! Literally sometimes I leave, close the door and feel better! But that’s not tackling the clutter issue. I’m hoping it’ll help address those night naps! I’m not sure if you’re to read the book first then start, but after reading the first few chapters I had a urge to start asap! First up is your wardrobe as that’s the easiest place to start. I’m using the book as a follow, read along, working through the areas chapter by chapter. I should have taken a before photo of my wardrobe as I can’t believe how much extra room there is in there just from folding clothes instead of hanging them! I was concerned I wouldn’t be able to see everything, but surprisingly I can. Behind the jumpers are gym clothes and jeans which I see them much better than my previous method. I had a big sort out over the summer and thought there wasn’t much more to throw out. But there was and now it’s all lined up for recycling, charity etc. I’m itching to start on the rest of the house, however up next is the sock drawer!

Oh and today’s Black Friday! It hit the UK a few ago via Amazon, Europe a little last year and this year it’s taken over Europe! Me thinks there some shopping to be done!

Shopping in the comfort of your PJ’s (please don’t shop out in your PJ’s. Unless it’s an emergency, I can’t think of a bigger no no. Loungewear is just that, loungewear) or battle fellow shoppers and feel the excitement of a discount on something you’ve had your eye on for ages?!

Glad Diesel’s okay now 🙂 I’ve heard about that book a lot but just thought it was another self-help book…I think I’ll have to give it a shot. Would love to see your progress and any other parts of your house/life you end up cleaning. Did you get anything from the Black Friday sales? 🙂

Thank you for Diesel wishes! He’s okay, just on medicine x2 a day for the long term, like his brother!
I’ll definitely keep posting the stages of the book. I won’t give too much away the method as the book needs to be read before starting. It’s a whole house tidy up and I’m looking forward to it! I did a get a few things on Black Friday, did you?! Have a great week:)

Congrats on the tidy up…. Now can you remember what is where? If I tidy up I lose the plot and regret doing it! 😉 oops then I can never find what I am looking for. Sounds like the boys are keeping you on your toes, hope they’re better soon xx

Thank you, though it’s still not finished. It’s a whole house affair and I’m looking forward to it!
Thank you for the cat wishes too. They’re definitely keeping me on my toes remembering medicine time. Mama can forget the time! Have a great week 🙂
