Seascapes, Spectre and Carrot Sticks

My gym’s next to one of the many beaches in Barcelona and next to one of the nudist beaches which is slap bam in the middle of main tourist beaches. Now the tourists except when it’s a sunny day have long gone from beaches, it’s a great place to take seascapes. You’ve probably noticed I don’t like many people in my photos. Right now I would very much like the temps to dip, so the lone nudist would stop blocking my seascapes. I don’t look (he’s too far away for my eyes to see correctly, but you know he ain’t in shorts) but nearly every sunny day he’s there, walking up and down his nudist spot when I look up from locking my bike. As for the other city nudist beach, I’ve got good at not looking as I run along it. I know there’s nothing wrong with it, we all come into the world in our birthday suit, it’s definitely not for me, but doesn’t sand get everywhere?!

I hope you had a great weekend! Saturday after catching up on chores, roof workout and long over due pedicure and manicure (it’s amazing how some nail TLC makes you or rather the nails feel better. It’s the same feeling when your hair desperately needs a cut.) it was off to the movies to see Spectre!

Classic bond movie, great action with a nod the 60’s Bond and plot you just go along with as it’s Bond. I booked my ticket for the first time via my phone the night before, with the ticket popping up in the Wallet app. If I can, I go for the seats right at the back. More leg room and if you’re like me, short, no heads in the way! I selected one of the last 2 seats left in that row. I felt slight bad if a pair wanted them, but hey, first come first served, right?! I’ll definitely use the Wallet app again booking tickets. No queuing at the ticket office, just show the phone ticket at the doors (I’m still not using the Safari’s password keychain however. I’ve many reasons why not to. 1, it keeps my memory active remembering all the passwords. 2, what happens if you need to access that site, you’re not on your cloud and can’t remember rghtu8484n?). As for the seats. Mine was taken. I didn’t want to say, ‘oi‘, so I sat 2 down hoping that the other seat holders when they came wouldn’t kick up a fuss. They never came and I ended up with the best seat in the house! Right in the middle! Most definitely be using Wallet app again! 

Saturday around mid day fog creeped in and hung around for 24 hours. I can’t say enough how much I appreciated it after Spartan Race burpee sets! Sunday I was looking forward to running in it, but I ended up leaving much later than I wanted and the fog cleared. The Spartan Beast is 21km, so Sundays I’m gradually increasing my distance. This week another 16km. When I feel I can handle 16km with fewer ‘rests’, I’ll increase the distance while working on leaving to run earlier. When I got back, I’ve no idea how I pulled it off. I showered, got lunch, threw my face on and left all within an hour to get to the zoo before closing. Sprint cycling 6km to the zoo, I didn’t see the point in stretching!

Favourite movie snack? I love and smuggle in carrot sticks and grapes, except I have to be careful with grapes as they can make me cough. 9/10 during the quiet scenes. Carrot sticks only during the action scenes as nobody wants to hear you munch on carrot sticks. Salt popcorn every now and then!
