10 Things About Me

I thought it’ll be fun to share another 10 things about me. Everybody likes to be nosey, so here goes:

It’s Natalie with a T. That’s how I introduce myself and that’s how I like to hear and pronounce it. Apart from my family, few native English speakers say the T. It seems only people who’s first language isn’t English, say NaTalie. If I like you, you can call me NaT. I’ll accept a soft T with Nat.Me!

WiFi will always be ‘wee-fee’ not ‘why-fi’. WiFi as a word came out after I left the UK, so it’ll always be ‘wee-fee’. It took me a while to release ‘why-fi’ was ‘wee-fee’ after hearing it on English TV.

If I don’t know a word in Spanish. I’ll say it in English with a Spanish accent. I find myself saying my name with an Spanish or French accent around Spanish or French. Around English speakers, English accent. It makes life easier.

Grease is one of my all time favourite movies. I can’t quote, but know all the words when watching it.Open Air Grease Barcelona 2014

I always check bananas and grapes for spider webs before purchasing. I’ve read one too many stories how houses were overrun by spiders sneaking in on bananas. One hint of a web, I put it back!

When I was little I used to love bananas. Now they freak me out. The smell, the touch. I only eat them now baked in cookies.

I don’t own a skirt. I think it’s rebellion against being a kid and having to wear them. I own about 3 dresses and I feel awkward wearing them. I don’t feel me. Give me shorts, legging, skinny jeans, I can dress them up or down and feel me in them!Snakeprint Converse

In my teens I used to wear a lot of delicate silver necklaces. Now I can’t stand wearing necklaces. I literally feel like a weight is hanging around me. Even a simple chain. Lightweight scarves also have the same effect. Heavy winter weight scarves, I have no problems wearing, probably as they wrap around rather than hang/drape.

I can be a quite a bit of a bozo. I once went to the wrong luggage reclaim in another terminal and had to talk my way back in past security. I’ve no idea how I managed to end up in the wrong reclaim, when I followed the flight number and markings on the floor. The way the security people were so calm about it, I believe it happens more than you think.

On another flight, before landing, I stowed my iPad and phone in their case in the seat pocket as I always do. It wasn’t until I walked the causeway and through the automatic doors, I released I’d left them behind. That’s when I found out those automatic doors only open one way. From the plane. I had to wait 2 days before I could pick them up from a warehouse located in the depths of Essex. I did have fun driving those country roads with my Mum though!

Have you ever left valuables behind on flights? What’s one of your all time favourite movies?

Wow, glad u managed to get your valuables back 🙂 good for you! I like grease and the music is brilliant but for favourite film(s) i like something to make me laugh – it has to be naked gun or airplane, excellent cheesy jokes and some of the police academy films are giggle too! It’s hard to think of picking one…. My list could get endless if i don’t stop, whatever you do, don’t ask what my favourite song is LOL. Do you listen to music when you run? X

Movies that make you laugh I think are ones you remember more than academy award winning! I like a mix of everything, action, (Jame Bond!), comedy, period, martial arts, even Steel Magnolias I liked, but it made me cry too much! Yes, I listen to music when I run. I kinda get stuck in a rut with it though. If I trail run, no music, but generally it’s up beat tempo like David Guetta. Long runs, everything, Taylor Swift, Pharrel, David Guetta, Aretha Franklin, my list is endless, so don’t ask me what my favourite song is either. Too many to choose from! Have a great weekend my dear! xo

Love this fun! Grease is one of my all time favorites too. And ditto about dresses. In my late 20’s I decided to buy a dress or two to get used to the idea of dresses.
