A Run, El Borne and Peanut Butter, Coconut Date Balls

For the first time in months, there was that crisp autumn chill in the air this morning as I warmed up. I considered running back inside to change into longer sleeves or leggings, but I go by the rule dress 10 degrees warmer than it is outside when running. I’m glad I didn’t as 10 minutes in, I appreciated shorts and a tank! I didn’t have time to switch tops anyway! If I wanted to run today it had to be early before the osteopath. 8km run along the beaches with few people out and the bright morning sun!IMG_0008Not that I need an excuse, the osteopath is located in El Borne, which gives me the perfect excuse to look around afterwards. I never tire exploring its alleyways. There’s always something new (the kiosk has a new puppy!). I think I spend an hour and a half wandering around!

I had just enough energy when I got back for a snack before the usual post osteopath sleep/shut down/reboot. Recently I’ve been making date snacks for when my sweet tooth kicks in. My sweet tooth is big. You can leave a tin of Quality Streets in front of me and you might come back to just the coffee ones left! Date snacks are really easy to make and are a great healthier alternative to Quality Streets! All you need for these peanut butter coconut date balls is:IMG_0871

6-7 Medjool dates pitted (this mix I think had 9. It was one for the mix, one for me and I lost count!)

1/4 cup oats

1/4 cup shredded coconut

1/4 cup peanut butter

1 tsp cinnamon

Mix all the ingredients together in a food processor. Roll the mix into balls. Store in the refrigerator. Perfect sweet tooth cravings!

Do you prefer running in the morning or evening? What’s your favourite sweet snack at the moment?

Thank you! I’ve never tried Starbucks’ cake pops. I do love their carrot cake though!

They’re so easy to make and versatile with ingredients! Basically they’re homemade Lara/Naked Date bars!
